Location System and Monitoring of Vital Signs in Older Adults and People with Alzheimer

This paper proposes the design of a portable electronic device of low-cost to support the care and attention of older adults, the system includes a GPS module capable of locating the older adult at any moment, as well as small sensors that monitor vital signs such as: temperature, blood pressure and heart rate. The information collected by the different sensors is sent to a Web server implemented in the Linux Centos distribution, it can be viewed and managed through different terminal devices that have access to a wireless connection under the Wi-Fi standard. In this way, adequate control of the daily activities of older adults is achieved by reducing resources such as time and money.
