Deduplication as a Service: Overcoming the myth of ABIS Proprietary Solutions

The growth in the adoption of the use of biometric data for identification and extraction of its sui generis property is intrinsic to the need of the governments around the world to realize several benefits linked to the use of technology. Still, a determining factor for adoption is the current development of each country and its purchasing power. In order to enable the implementation of ABIS by small and/or poor countries, this paper presents a study on the real needs in the implementation and proposes to the cloud system to enable the adoption of biometrics technologies, confirming the viability of an Open Source and Free deduplication solution as a service. Further proposing, the creation of a new model of service delivery in order to encourage the competition between ABIS vendors and the rise of new providers.
