The shielding effectiveness of composite electromagnetic screens made of non-woven with brass plasma layer covered with oxide layers

The presented paper presents the results of research on the effectiveness of shielding polypropylene / metal / metal oxide composites. A generally available polypropylene nonwoven was used as the substrate, which was metallized with CuZn by magnetron sputtering. The composites thus obtained were applied in the reactive sputtering process with titanium oxide or aluminum oxide. Oxide layers increase the resistance to harmful environmental effects (humidity, temperature), and thus increase the lifetime of materials that shield the electromagnetic field. It has been found that the application of oxide layers reduces the screening effectiveness factor by approximately 5 dB.
