A method for calibrating standard propagation model in LTE system

In the LTE network planning, the propagation loss prediction is essential to predict the strength of the signal and interference. Conventionally, Standard Propagation Model (SPM) calibrating algorithms based on least squares (LS) are widely adopted. In this paper, a method using matrix operations is proposed to calibrate the SPM. The simulation results show that the proposed method is able to reduce the mean error and decrease the standard deviation, compared with conventional methods. In addition, it meets the calibration standard.
