Harmonie mitigation in multi feeders by using MC-UPQC system with the predictive ANN & SVM

This paper aims to develop a Multi-Converter Unified Power Quality Controller (MC-UPQC) and analyses the performance with PI controller, artificial neural network (ANN) and Support Vector Machines (SVM). MC-UPQC system is able to compensate voltage and current distortions simultaneously in multi feeder systems. Shunt compensator is used to regulate the current disturbances and series compensator is used to mitigate voltage disturbances. The shunt compensation is carried out in the main feeder and the series compensation is carried out in all the feeders connected in multi feeder system. In this project, power quality can be improved in multi feeders connected to two different power substations by using MC-UPQC and observe the difference between ANN and SVM controller. In this arrangement both the Shunt-VSC (Sh-VSC) and Series VSC (Se-VSC) are connected to common DC-link capacitor. Implementation is done by using MATLAB and the obtained results are compared. The performance analysis is done by using different controllers.
