Database-per-service for e-learning system with micro-service architecture

Smart education with cutting edge technology is trending in Ε-Learning platform. The design of e-learning system exists with lot of challenges and need for a strong, flexible and robust system which is available to users. Database-per-service is a performance oriented cloud based service model, provides flexible access to users anywhere-anytime without setting up any physical hardware or setting any software configuration. In our proposed work we come across some of the features to meet setting up the e-learning system considerations are; large amount of data, multi users, and specific user access (privacy) with flexibility. Monolithic architecture based applications are currently in the market, but facing lot of drawbacks with respect to maintenance, scaling up and flexibility of use. We propose a micro-service based architecture for an e-learning platform using database-per-service and solve problems faced working under monolithic architecture to make more flexible. Implementation carried out by designing an e-learning architecture, each topic under a course is divided into micro-topics and micro-service architecture built with database-per-service plugin for each service which is independent of service. Each micro-service is flexible to communicate with other micro-service and achieved performance enhancement in data management and usability.
