High efficiency low power series diode rectifier design

This paper proposes the multisection impedance matching design on Series diode rectifier at 2.45 GHz using Advanced Design System (ADS) software. This rectifier is used for applications involving RF to DC rectification for low input power sources. Input matching circuit has been optimized for high efficiency. Simulated results show that 62% and 52% RF to DC conversion efficiency have been achieved for input power 0 dBm and −5 dBm respectively at 2.45GHz. A peak efficiency of 85% is simulated for an input power of 18 dBm and a 3.2V output DC voltage is achieved at a 1KΩ DC load when the rectifier is matched to 50Ω.
