Improvement of the ATS system for safety on the three-aspect railway signaling system in conventional line

The ATS-S₁, which is being used in some of the conventional railway lines of Korea Railroad, will only sound an alarm at the stop signal and return by confirmation of the driver's handling. In this case, there are risk factors of accidents such as entry of stop signal and speeding due to human error. Therefore, we consider the application of the ATS-S₂ system which can prevent the over speed by continuous surveillance the train speed and prevent the train accident due to the human error by the driver.
