Query algorithm optimization with TempTable on employee pages module knowledge management system

Nowadays, the phenomenon that occurs in a system is the data collected very much, data growth very fast and data formed in several dimensions or commonly referred as big data. Along with this, it is generally an application that uses big data needs to be equipped with a search feature. BINUS Pages module on Applications BINUS Knowledge Management System (KMS) is a module to facilitate the search function for employees as expert locator system. This module has been built using employees data consist of various dimensions and distributed database, these impact on query performance was very slow. With the current algorithm, search time is about 5 to 8 minutes, it is felt too long and causes reluctance to use the system. The purpose of this research is to develop a new algorithm so that the execution time of the search function can be faster. The research method used are literature study, algorithm development and algorithm test. The test is done by testing 3 keywords with 30 iterations for each. The conclusion of this research is that the new algorithm using temporary table can speed up the searching execution time with result maximum is 34 seconds, minimum is 4 seconds, and average is 21 seconds with same context testing.
