Effect of bit rate and laser input power level in TDM/WDM hybrid link applications

Time Division Multiplexing and Wavelength Division Multiplexing both play a key role in maximizing the bandwidth efficiency in their respective domains. This work is guided towards the advantage of implementing the hybrid multiplexing technique which further boosts the existing range of bandwidth utilization than possible from either of the multiplexing methods alone. The work discusses about an analysis of a TDM-WDM hybrid link setup with variations in TDM signal bit rates using a standard simulation environment. The paper also brings out a phenomena encountered during the realization of proto hybrid link with input laser power level and its mitigation method. Thus, paper includes few of the analysis results obtained during the performance evaluation of hybrid link.
