HARQ with chase-combining for bandwidth-efficient communication in MIMO wireless networks

In this paper, we designed a detection scheme by using Chase Combining Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request (CC-HARQ) for spatial multiplexed Multi-input and Multi-output (MIMO) transmission systems. CC-HARQ increases the throughput and provides higher flexibility for the spatially multiplexed MIMO (SM-MIMO) system based on its Bit Error Rate (BER) requirement and the capability of Forward Error Correction (FEC) to minimize the errors. Besides, CC-HARQ is simple and straightforward with vital implications in system engineering. Experimental results reveal that the CC-HARQ scheme gains significant performance in terms of throughput and BER.
