XFS file system and occupancy impact space of a semiconductor disk

Despite the disadvantages of semiconductor memory (SSD), they are increasingly used and tend to take the lead over the market of secondary memory. File systems, whose basic role is to store, access and manage data created for organizing files on a magnetic disk, may not be suitable for the use on the semiconductor disks. Since the xfs file system is created for working with large files and that today's data and files are getting bigger, xfs is interesting for the perfromance analysis on the semiconductor disk representative. This paper analyzes the xfs file system in Linux environment using CentOS operating system (kernel version 3.10.0), and Filebench software as one of the most popular benchmarks for testing the file system load.
