Synthesis and characterization of a new organic second-order optical material 4(2,2 dicyanoethenyl)-1-phenyl pyrazole (DCEPP)

Summary form only given. In recent years, significant research has been oriented towards the development of organic nonlinear optical materials with wide optical windows of transparency. We report a new organic second-order optical material 4-(2,2-dicyanoethenyl)-1-phenyl pyrazole (DCEPP), which is transparent down to the UV-region of the spectrum.
