Attacks resistant trust mechanisms for WSN: A comparative analysis

This Due to wireless sensor networks fully distributed nature and constrained computational resources; it is exposed to various kinds of attacks and threats. The traditional heavyweight cryptographic techniques cannot be directly used for WSN security due to high power consumption and computational capabilities. Thus, trust management schemes are potential solution in providing security. In this paper, we review and analyze different types of trust based routing schemes and their significance in WSN security. We classify existing trust based schemes based on trust evidence, energy consumption and resistance towards different attacks. We aim to provide a rigid analysis to future researchers by presenting a comparative analysis of these trust based routing schemes. We further explore some of the open research areas and conclude directions for possible future research in WSN.
