Multi-standard radio for 2G to 5G

Todays generation is highly dependent on mobile communication. To satisfy the quest of high speed, better connectivity, better performance etc; mobile communication has evolved from 1G to 4G. As with 4G, the concept of Internet of things has come into the picture. For Internet of Things, millions of devices needed to be connected simultaneously and hence 4G bandwidth standalone will not be able to do so. Hence up gradation to 5G is highly desirable. Not only that, 5G will also be able to provide fastest speed, lower energy consumption, low latency etc. With an objective of launching 5G in Tokyo Olympics 2020, research on 5G has already started. 5G will be demoed in winter Olympics 2018. As mobile communication is upgrading to 5G, transmitters of base transceiver stations are compelled to transition into a new combined technology known as Multi-Standard Radio. In this paper, Multi-Standard Radio signal generation is shown which will combine FBMC, LTE, WCDMA, GSM and EDGE at different input sample rates and carrier frequencies. System Vue 2016.08 is used as system design platform and simulation platform.
