Dual C-slotted microstrip patch MIMO antenna for multiband wireless applications

In the paper, a two port compact microstrip multiple input multiple output (MIMO) antenna proposed and studied. Two patch is introduced separate and with a common DGS. It was the symmetric to Y-axis. C-slotted rectangular patch antenna has six resonance frequencies as below of -15 dB return loss. Whose values were 3.3 GHz, 9.3 GHz, 12.7 GHz, 15.9 GHz and 21.3 GHz with maximum gain 67.7 dBi at 3.3 GHz. This antenna show circular polarization though Axial Ratio. The maximum efficiency 87.5 % at 21.7 GHz. Which may be operate for high data rate of more than 1 GBPS. Which are essential for LTE, 4G and 5G wireless system. This innovative design is printed on very famous substrate FR-4 (Frame Retardant series 4), whose relative permittivity and loss tangent are of 4.4 and 0.013 respectively. The total size of the antenna was 30 mm × 32mm × 1.60 mm. VSWR at all resonance frequencies lies from 1.11 to 1.44 (less than 1.5). Here Proposed Antenna simulation is done by Ansoft HFSS (High-Frequency structure simulator) software. The simulated parameters such as reflection coefficient (S11), Gain, Directivity and VSWR are discussed in this paper.
