Output voltage regulation of IPOS modular dual active bridge DC/DC converters using sliding mode control

In this paper, a novel output voltage control scheme for the input-parallel output-series (IPOS) modular dual active bridge (DAB) DC/DC converter is proposed, based on the hierarchical sliding mode control (HSMC). The proposed controller provides a balancing control of output voltages of individual modules as well as the overall DC bus voltage regulation even if there is a parameter mismatch. Also, the control performance is less sensitive to parameter perturbation by applying the sliding mode control theory. The validity of the proposed control method is verified by experimental results.
