Network function virtualization: Challenges and prospects for modernization

Network Function Virtualization was proposed for handling network services so that Network Service Providers offer them in more efficient and cost-effective way. Through leveraging virtualization technology and industrial off-the-shelf programmable hardware, including standard-cause servers, garage, and switches, NFV decouples the software part of network features from the underlying hardware. As an emerging technology, NFV brings numerous challenges to community operators, such as the assurance of network performance for virtual appliances, their dynamic instantiation and migration, and their green placement. In this paper, we offer a concise evaluation of NFV then provide an explanation for its necessities and architectural framework, express several examples, and debate on challenged situations and future of this rapidly developing domain.
