Research on Video Text Recognition Technology Based on OCR

In order to improve the recognition ability of text information in video, an improved video text recognition technology is proposed based on OCR (Optical Character Recognition), the edge analysis algorithm is used to extract superimposed text in video, SVM method is used to divide all the pixels into text and non-text pixels, a RGB color image is converted to HSV color space. The V component of the image is extracted as gray image, the optical character recognition (OCR) is taken for extracting the maximum gradient feature of video text. In order to remove the pseudo text area, combining the analysis of connected domain, the detected text areas are formed connected component by the morphology analysis, extract various features of connected components and integration, and the video text recognition is improved. The simulation results show that this method is used in video text recognition, the recognition accuracy is better, the accuracy of text location is higher, and the detection performance of video text is better than traditional methods.
