Conventional vs. RBF control of a benchmark process control problem

We compare the performance of a conventional PID controller with that of a radial basis function neural network controller on the simulated bioreactor benchmark problem. The simulated bioreactor is a difficult process to control because of its nonlinearity and because its optimal performance is close to an unstable region.
