Improved Schemes on Channel Interval for the Suppression of the Effect of Four-Wave-Mixing

In the paper, two improved schemes are proposed to suppress the effect of four-wave-mixing (FWM) that the traditional wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) system in the formula of equal frequency interval would have. One such scheme is specified by a channel interval that is wider in the intermediate and narrower on the ends. The other is, however, a channel interval that is alternated each other unequally. The proposed schemes are realized and simulated by Optisystem11.0. Results show that, compared with the traditional counterparts, the two improved schemes are more effective in suppressing the effect of FWM, and moreover the latter scheme will perform better than the prior one.
