Generation of 1535-nm Pulsed Vortex Beam in a Diode-Pumped Er,Yb:Glass Microchip Laser

A compact 1535-nm Er,Yb:glass microchip vortex laser carrying orbital angular momentum (OAM) of lħ is first presented to the best of our knowledge. The highest pulsed energy reaches 31.4 μ at a repetition frequency of 250 Hz. The OAM phase singularities were confirmed by a simple self-interference pattern. The process that the LG0,±1 modes were produced by combining two orthogonal Hermite-Gaussian modes in a plane-parallel resonator was recorded. The dynamic behaviors of transverse patterns were discussed, giving a more luminous comprehension of directly generated vortex beam in solid-state oscillators.
