A fixed-location random access scheme with spatial groups and TA information

This paper proposes an improved scheme for random access procedure, especially for fixed location Machine-to-Machine devices. Based on a random access scheme with timing alignment information, the scheme improved the fairness of the procedure by dividing all the devices into spatial groups. According to the group number and the timing alignment parameter, the base station will fairly give devices the authority to access to the system even it is located at the edge of the cellular. The paper makes efforts with different gaps on collision probability and device access rate. Simulation results validate that the fairness of the access rating is distinctly improved by the proposed scheme.
