Per-flow end-to-end delay bounds in heterogeneous wireless networks

In this paper, we consider the influence of network topology on the delay analysis in a large scale wireless Ad hoc network. The packet transmission delay is an important target in the network design, which is always used to evaluate the network QoS performance. Different from previous works focused on the analysis of average delay, we address the stochastic end-to-end delay based on a stochastic network calculus approach. Due to the heterogeneity of network topology, we exploit percolation theorem to divide the topology into a grid with number of squares. According to the tessellation, a novel routing policy is proposed. Based on the routing policy, we deduce the stochastic service curves. Under the framework of stochastic network calculus, per-flow end-to-end stochastic delay bounds are derived. The derivation provides some guidelines for packet delivering and network design in a heterogeneous wireless network.
