Design of fully adaptive routing for partially interconnected cross-link mesh topology for Network on Chip

In this paper, we present a new fully adaptive routing algorithm for partially interconnected cross-link mesh topology for NoC named as partially interconnected fully adaptive routing (PIFA). In Partially interconnected cross-link mesh topology four additional diagonal ports are connected in NE, SW, SE, and NW directions for data communication. Proposed routing algorithm is more efficient in terms of throughput, overall average latency and latency per packet in comparison to existing routing algorithms such as Odd-even, and DYAD for normal mesh topology.
