Effect of voltage sag compensation with and without 7-level inverter based DSTATCOM

This paper is planned to find the effect of Voltage Sag Compensation with and without7-level inverter based Distribution Static Compensator(DSTATCOM). PWM technique is used to produce the gate pulses to the seven-level inverter which acts as Voltage Source Inverter (VSI). The Voltage sag Compensation technique is studied for mitigating voltage sag, to reduce Total Harmonic Distortion (THD)under non-linear load by using the DSTATCOM. The simulation circuit is developed using MATLAB/SIMULINK software and the Voltage Compensation and THD values with and without DSTATCOM are obtained and the effect of using 7-level Inverter based DSTATCOM is validated.
