Highly birefringent multi-core photonic crystal fiber with low confinement loss

Multiple core photonic crystal fibers (PCFs) with wafer of two different materials silica and lead silicate has been simulated. PCF with silica as wafer reports very high birefringence and ultra low loss. However other structure investigated also reports higher birefringence. Both structure have found to allow single mode propagation. Thus both structures are found to applicable for optical sensors, optical devices and communication system.
