Design and simulation of optical MEMS phase modulator for wireless communication

A continuous advancement in optical communication related applications needed the substantially quicker processors. With the combination of two trends, optoelectronic devices have been developed. This novel hybrid device is Optical MEMS Phase Modulator using Directional Coupler which can be used in many wireless applications. In this paper, the electrical characterization of optical phase modulator is obtained at room temperature. The voltage current characteristics are obtained as a function of channel thickness, width and material using FEM software.
