Adaptive power control scheme to mitigate cross tier interference in two-tier femto cell network

Long Term Evolution Advanced (LTE-A) systems with femto-cell integrated with macro-cell networks aims to increase the capacity of the network by spreading data traffic loads in hotspots and to cover area inaccessible by macro-network. This will pose a major technical challenge of cross-tier interference in the heterogeneous network, i.e., the interference between the macro-users due to Femto base station [FBS]. In this paper, suggested frame-work focuses on the impact of cross-tier interference on throughput of the macro-user due to femto-cell deployment. The throughput of the macro user can be defined at various points of two tier networks of femto-cell installed in macro cell LTE-A networks. This paper proposes an adaptive transmit power control technique which controls the FBS transmit power to suppress the effect of cross tier interference on throughput of a macro-user. The simulation results show that the proposed scheme results in higher throughput of the macro-user.
