Security challenges and trends in vehicular communications

Due to high mobility, the partial lack of fixed infrastructure, and working for different applications, vehicular ad hoc networks (VANETs) are much liable to several sorts of attacks and threads. The limited capacity capabilities of the current wireless vehicular Environment (WAVE) standard are also one of the major problems facing borrowing and deploying other security solutions from other similar communication systems. This paper comprehensively tackles the expected security attacks in vehicular networks scenarios and thoroughly lists out some security challenges facing VANET. The challenge that would face deploying other security solution in VANET are also investigated. The paper is considered as a guideline to state some research trends for security problems in vehicular networks.
