Measuring employee value of IT staff in banking sector through value profit chain variables

ICT has been recognized as an enabler to boost competencies as well as to gain profit in various business natures and banking sector is one of the instances. As the main player in the business, IT staff is the important asset in an organization but it is frequently put at least attention rather than other ICT infrastructures such as information, technology, and system. The minimal attention may source to high turnover in ICT industry, plus may lead to both mediocre performance and minimum quality of the IT project deliverables. With an objective to measuring the value of employee for this study, a literature review conducted found several frameworks and models such as Service Profit Chain (SPC), Retail Profit Chain (RPC), Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and Value Profit Chain (VPC). From the exploration of the studies, only VPC model offers an equation to measure the employee value in the order of retaining IT staff as core stakeholders in the organization known as Employee Value Equation. However, this equation described as a theory concept from the model and required few elements to support the variables in measuring the value of the employee.
