Parity space-based fault detection for networked control systems with packet dropout

In this paper, fault detection based on parity relation approach of Networked Control Systems subject to packet dropout in controller-to-actuator link is studied. Both the influence of network-induced delay and packet dropout on fault detection scheme are considered. Then a performance index is proposed to determinate the optimal parity vector based on H₂ optimization. The aim of this study is to obtain parity relation based residual generator that ensures both robustness to network-induced delay as well as packet dropout and sensitivity to unknown input and fault. The efficiency of this approach is proved through a simulation example.
