Impact of supply voltage variation on V-I trajectory identification method

It is essential to solve the problem of increasing electrical loads and to find advanced means of load management. Load management necessitates the full monitoring of loads to track and evaluate the daily usage of energy. Identifying load type helps the decision maker to perform the load management process in an effective manner. Smart meters with non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM) techniques are used to collect data easily that can be used in load identification methods. The V-I trajectory method is an effective manner for identifying different types of loads. However, this technique is affected by the measured voltage and its variation. Therefore, this paper is interested on investigating the effect of changing the voltage on the features extracted in the V-I trajectory method.
