Self-tuning of an FLC-PID controller of a dual-axis sun tracker photo-voltaic panel based on rise-time-observer method

This paper presents a utilization of a novel Fuzzy-PID controller self-tuning technique that is named as Rise-Time Observer. The model that is targeted by the controller is a dual-axis photovoltaic-panel sun tracker. An experimental practical system was developed, and a corresponding identified model for simulation was constructed. The tuning process is aiming at reducing the undesired effect on the system response that results from increasing the friction coefficient of the dc motor of the sun-tracker horizontal motion.
