Clustered set of three differently sized elliptical dielectric resonator antennas for X-band application

This paper presents a unique approach to achieve wide impedance bandwidth by incorporating a clustered set of three elliptical dielectric resonator antennas located on a ground plane. Radiating modes of three differently sized DRAs are merged to obtain the wide impedance bandwidth. The proposed antenna exhibits a -10 dB reflection bandwidth from 8.0 GHz to 11.0 GHz. The simulated antenna gain varies between 5.5 dBi to 7 dBi within the obtained bandwidth.
