Analysis and comparison of printed dipole array antenna with different array size for multiband application

This paper presents the design and depiction of 8×2 and 4 × 4 printed dipole array antenna. The performance of distinct structured antennas are analyzed by designing 16 no of elements in different way. The characteristics of antenna such as return loss, VSWR, gain and radiation pattern are examined by using Ansoft HFSS Simulator tool. The antennas are designed for 7.4 GHz frequency band. The 8 × 2 dipole array antenna obtains 4.9% of bandwidth, VSWR <; 1.5 and maximum gain of 7.55 dB at 8.2 GHz. The 4 × 4 dipole array antenna achieves 44.53% of bandwidth, VSWR <; 1.5 and maximum gain of 7.16 dB at 7.41 GHz. Comparisons between 8 × 2 and 4 × 4 printed dipole antenna arrays are presented by considering their simulation results.
