Bragg grating assisted coupler for add-drop filter

Based on the mode-coupling theory, the Bragg grating assisted mismatched coupler is theoretically analyzed for the operation in LP/sub 01/ mode. The equations governing the coupling phenomenon are obtained by numerical simulation. The design principles of the Bragg grating assisted mismatched coupler for wavelength-division add-drop filter application are presented.
