A comparative analysis of load frequency control of two-area interconnected hybrid power system using LabVIEW

This article discusses the design and analysis of two area interconnected hybrid power system with different controllers in LabVIEW environment. In this model time delay, Generation rate constraints (GRC) and reheat turbine are included to add non-linearity to the system dynamics. In this case CSP (Concentrating Solar Plant) has been added to the system and the system is simulated with and without CSP and the results are found out with three different controllers such as I/PI/PID controller. The inclusion of Generation rate Constraint (GRC) adds non linearity which becomes a challenging task for the system controller. The difficulty is overcome with the addition of controller with step and random load variation. Finally sensitivity analysis is carried out with varying parameter and different loading conditions. During observation, the system response improves using PID controller.
