Design and analysis of conformal antenna for smart shoes

The goal of this communication is to present a novel multi band antenna design suitable for integration in smart shoes. The conformal antenna covers the frequency bands of mobile communication, Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS. Antenna performance is evaluated with the effect of the full shoe material and the human foot equivalent phantom model. The effect of foot phantom and ground equivalent material is studied in terms of reflection coefficient and radiation pattern efficiency. A prototype is built using 3D printing technology and compared to simulation in terms of S-parameters.
