Review on frequency reconfigurable antenna for wireless applications

In recent times, there is a extensive demand for wireless systems that can provide multiple access over a wide spectrum and use of electromagnetic spectrum efficiently. But the conventional antenna does not meet the demand of modern day wireless communication systems. So single radiating element called reconfigurable antenna is designed which has a capability to switch its characteristics in real time condition. Reconfigurable antennas are classified as frequency, radiation pattern and polarization reconfigurable antenna according to its switching behavior of antenna. The main goal of this paper is to review various worldwide articles pertaining to the frequency reconfiguration patch antennas, that has extensively reduced the complexity in structure and thereby the antenna size.
