Optimized ADE-FDTD method in unmagnetized plasma

An optimized auxiliary differential equation (ADE) finite difference time domain (FDTD) method which induces amplitude-phase factors is developed to consummate the amplitude and phase information of the conventional finite difference approximation. The least-square fitting (LSF) method is applied to determine the optimized amplitude-phase factors. Compared with the ADE-FDTD method, the proposed optimized ADE-FDTD method can reduce the dispersion error and dissipation error significantly. Numerical example demonstrate that the proposed method provides result with higher accuracy than ADE-FDTD for modelling of electromagnetic wave propagation in unmagnetized plasma.
