Computer based methods to analyze carotid stenosis

Atherosclerosis affects the arteries such as the coronary, renal, femoral, cerebral and carotid. Carotid stenosis is a carotid artery disease caused due to the deposition of plaque into the arterial wall and is major cause of death and loss of productive life year globally. Study of the disease had leads us to compel hypothesis about pathophysiology of lesion formation, myocardial infarction and stroke. Lipoprotein oxidation, inflammation and immunity are crucially involved in human atherosclerosis. Computational techniques have strong capacity to simulate flow behavior in arteries having plaque with different geometries and conditions as compared to experimental methods used earlier.
