A perception-based method for a multidimensional estimation of the intangible value impact of ICT investments

A perception-based method for a multidimensional estimation of the intangible value (INTVAL) impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) investments is presented. The method proposes conducting a comparative analysis of the impact projected by decision makers (DMs) with that perceived by user beneficiaries of the level of contribution of such technologies to the value activities of their business unit. This will allow DMs determining: a) how an ICT investment is expected to impact the VC of their business unit, b) how an ICT investment actually impacted the VC of their business unit, and c) whether the INTVAL impact obtained is aligned with the strategic objectives pursued in terms of how many value activities intended to be impacted were actually impacted at the extent predicted.
