System architecture for smart home meter

This paper presents the system architecture of smart home meter. The main purpose of this kind of systems is to provide home residence up-to-date information about home appliances such as their state (On or Off), power consumption and if there is any malfunction, at the same time offering home residence high level of comfort. The paper illustrates and explains a proposed system architecture for smart home meter. A prototype has been built to validate the proposed system architecture and it shows a huge potential in using AWS (Amazon Web Services) IoT platform for smart home systems.
