PCB electromagnetic interference modelling based on reciprocity theorem

In this paper, an efficient approach is a proposed for estimating electromagnetic interference (EMI) from a trace based on reciprocity theorem. What we need in this method are the current distribution of the trace and the electric field distribution generated by the victim device. Trace current can be directly determined by transmission line method (TLM). And only one full-wave simulation or near-field scanning is needed to derive the electric field. Subsequently, the interference between the trace and victim device can be estimated by our proposed method. The advantage of this method is that it is efficient to analysis the effects of trace parameters on its power coupled to the victim device, such as the length and location of trace etc., with only one full-wave simulation or near-field scanning. A numerical example is given for the verification and it shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
