An illustrative disquisition on trust based routing techniques in MANET

A self maintained infrastructure less network is MANET. Each node must forward traffic unrelated to its own use and therefore be a router. Due to its wide range of application secure routing becomes a mandatory in the trending era. There are various types of routing techniques for MANET; trust mechanism is one among them. Data is routed from source to destination based on the trustworthiness of the destination. Trust is a social concept implemented to solve the routing issue which is a collection of suggestions by nearby nodes about a node before dropping a packet in to them. Trustworthiness is a combination of direct trust calculated by the direct interactions and indirect trust calculated on the basis of direct interactions as well as the opinion about the destination by neighbour node. In this paper a survey has been made on trust based routing techniques. It has been compared against four common network parameters namely throughput, packet delivery ratio, delivery latency and packet loss. Efficiency of those techniques is shown via analysis graph.
