Advances in color image segmentation

Segmentation is the low-level operation in image processing which partitions an image into disjoint and homogeneous regions. We consider segmentation of color images, a task which plays a very important role in many multimedia applications concerned with color information. In particular, we review the main contributions in this field in the past few years.
