Research on calibration accuracy of D-Dot transient electric field sensor

D-Dot sensor is a significant method for measuring high power transient electric field. Time domain calibration is the most important step. However, the calibration coefficients are observed different while calibrated in different size of TEM cells. By means of the comparison of numerical simulation, theoretical calculation and experimental calibration, this paper analyzes the calibration difference of D-Dot sensor in three sizes of TEM cells. The research indicates that the bigger the TEM cell is, the more accurate the calibration coefficients of practical calibration can be. And the ratio of D-Dot sensor's max dimension and TEM cell should be below 1/5 to guarantee the accuracy.
