An overview of scattering measurements of scaled dynamic wind turbines in the context of navigation systems

This contribution proposes and discusses a variety of measurement setups for measuring the time-dependent scattering behaviour of scaled rotating wind turbines within a large anechoic chamber. The scope of scattering measurements is to investigate the influence of multipath propagation on navigation systems, in particular omni-directional radio range and radar. Besides giving an overview of instrumentation and corresponding dynamic range the focus of this contribution is to present raw measurement data as a basis for future intercomparison studies conducted by other institutions. The particular assessment of performance mitigation of navigation systems will also depend on individual receiver models, especially for dynamic propagation channels.
