A new maximum power point tracking method for PV string under PS condition

The power-voltage (P-V) curves of photovoltage (PV) string show topical peaks when the modules acquire non-uniform solar insolation. This causes the tracking of the maximum power point (MPP) a more complicated thing. Popular MPP tracking (MPPT) algorithms are exhibited to be effectual under uniform insolation condition. But they may lose the entire MPP under partial shaded condition (PSC). This paper proposes a new method to track the entire MPP (EMPP) under PSC. By calculating all the local MPP (LMPP), and chooses the highest one and employs the perturbation and observation algorithm (P and O) this LMPP. Simulation results verify the usefulness of the proposed method.
